Snakewood dubbing needle set …

Snakewood is just ideal for small spindle turning projects. the only problem is that it can suffer from shakes (small cracks in the wood). Well behaved it scrapes well (I use a round bar with a skew chisel grind on the end) and allows the turner to “go small and thin” for projects like this one. I used to make these items longer and larger but now like the shorter variety. Finished with 1200 grit sandpaper with a little oil and then onto the buffing wheel with a little jeweller’s rouge a mirror finish is obtained. Don’t forget to reverse  the handles and remove any turning marks on the end.

Regards

Paul
